A very dense wine, both aromatically and on the palate. Intense aromatics of black cherry, cigar box, and blackberry Danish are rich on the nose. Donnelly Creek is typically our most structured Pinot Noir and the 2015 is no exception. Flavors of black cherry and blackberries contrast with notes of smoked meat, toast, and vanilla. Hints of cinnamon, and clove linger in the mouth and the dense tannins provide a weighty mouthfeel that suggest this exceptional wine will age gracefully for many years to come.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
This wine is made of a blend of Pommard and Stang clones from two different blocks at Donnelly Creek Vineyard, located just outside the town of Boonville in the most protected end of the Anderson Valley Appellation. Donnelly Creek’s warm days and cold nights consistently deliver abundant black fruit character and rich tannins.
Production Notes
The fruit was harvested in three picks on August 28th, September 12th and 14th at an average of 24.6° Brix. It then went through a five-day cold soak at 50°F, a nine-day uninoculated primary fermentation peaking between 90 and 94°F, and a five-day extended maceration. The wine was aged sixteen months in 60-gallon French oak barrels, 40% of which were new. Coopers include Cadus and Quintessence.
